Homo Digitalis

Transmedia project (Fraunhofer IAO) in collaboration with BR, ARTE and ORF

Challenge
Digitalization is changing our lives in many ways. But what effects has it already had? What do people picture life to be like in the future? Finding answers to these questions is essential so that we can actively and humanely help to shape digitalization. To this end, Fraunhofer IAO has developed an online test together with the German public broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR), the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation ORF and the Franco-German TV network ARTE.

Method
The test contains several sections about various aspects of life; besides the impact of the smartphone, it focuses on the effect of digitalization on working life, the ability to concentrate, health, and sexual life. Through this test, participants can also learn something about themselves in a fun and playful way: Will I, a Homo Sapiens, one day become a Homo Digitalis?

Result
The results of the online test will be made public in early 2018 in the form of a scientific study and a television documentary.“
